Ciraco's Okinawan Karate & Kobudo students win big at the National Karate Championships in North Carolina!

Mike Ciraco, rokudan, a student of Chuck Chandler Kyoshi brought 31 students from Ciraco's Okinawan Karate & Kobudo of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to the championships.

Mike's dojo was honored with the trophy for best dojo.

Mike and his students entered 73 eventsand won 67 trophies. 34 1st, 14 2nd and 19 third. Jessica Schneider, Ann Morales, and Dom Forbes all won 3 1st place trohpies and Ann won the Grand Champion for Adult Women Black Belts. Mike took third in the Master's division in Weapons.

Chandler Kyoshi won the Master's division with Neipaipo Kata.

An outstanding performance by members of the Konanryu Kohokan Karate Kobudo Hakutsuru Kyokai Association.

The passing of a karateka.

A fine karateka passed from us to Him. William “Bill” Muncy, 56, of Williamson, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Williamson Memorial Hospital. Bill was born Jan. 16, 1952 in Williamson. Besides being a karateka of the highest caliber, he was a groundskeeper for Mt. View Memory Gardens of Maher and a minister of the Church of Christ.

He will be missed by the members of the Konanryu Kohokan Karate Kobudo Hakutsuru Kyokai Association.
