You will have recognition, inspiration, and a resource that can be referred to when seeking instruction and correction. This is sorely needed, even by the most advance karateka.

As a member, you can trace your instructional linage back to Okinawa. Additional information comes directly from Okinawa. because Chandler Kyoshi periodically travels to Okinawa for instruction.

Members receive promotion certificates from the association through their dojo or directly if an individual member and testing through a member sensei of the association.

Members have access to the members only section of the this web site. This area has history, pictures, and other valuable information.

Members receive discounts on the items offered for purchase.

Members may purchase videos and other items not available to non members.

Memeber Dojos receive a dojo charter certificate.

Senseis of member dojos have access to a private area of the web site for senseis only.

Who may be a member?

Dojos that teach traditional Okinawan karate and individuals that study traditional Okinawan karate are welcome and encouraged to join Okinawa Konanryu Kohokan Karate Kobudo Hakutsuru Kyokai. The association is open to all skill and rank levels from absolute beginner to advanced karateka.

The association wants to be an association of the best. The passing on of traditional Okinawan karate is the goal of the association. If you are also aspire to this high goal, you are welcome to join us.

Dojo senseis are encouraged to have all their students join the association. This gives the students a sense of belonging not just to the dojo but to the world organization and having their accomplishments and rank recognized world wide.

Individuals are welcome to join the association but are encouraged to find a local dojo and sensei. The study of karate is far more fruitful when a knowledgeable sensei is available to give guidance and instruction. We discourage individuals from trying to learn karate and kobudo only from books and videos. Our books and videos are some of the finest, but should only be used for reference under the instruction of a competent sensei.

A sincere desire to study, preserve, and instruct the old, traditional Okinawan and Chinese martial arts, culture and history.
